“Pablo Heras-Casado conquers the Granada Festival”

“This score is untouchable!” Said the virtuoso Leopold Auer in rejecting the premiere of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, the central work of the program the Philharmonia Orchestra and violinist Esther Yoo offered in a magnificent performance directed by Pablo Heras-Casado. The Festival of Granada opened, with a night of success and recognition, that from September will be its new director.

Pablo Heras-Casado is a musician who has established himself through a deep education and a succession of successful decisions that have taken him to the top of the international scene of the orchestra direction. He knows how to infuse each performance with its own character, while extracting the best of everything. Such was the case with the Philharmonia Orchestra, characterized by its clean sound and timbre richness, which in the hands of Heras-Casado sounded spectacular on this night in Granada.
