Premiere La Clemenza di Tito, Mozart – Wiener Staatsoper

Pablo Heras-Casado returns to the pit of the Wiener Staatsoper to conduct the first title of the season of this outstanding theatre. This is Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito, in a production signed by Jürgen Flimm.

Heras-Casado thus returned to the Vienna State Opera after successfully completing his direction of the Monteverdi trilogy there and weeks after having enjoyed notable success in his debut at the Bayreuth Festival with Parsifal. The Spanish maestro will be back to the Wiener Staatsoper weeks later, at the head of Le Grand Macabre de Ligeti.

For these performances of the Mozartian title, Heras-Casado will feature the voices of Matthew Polenzani (Tito), Federica Lombardi (Vitellia), Slávka Zámečníková (Servilia), Kate Lindsey (Sesto), Patricia Nolz (Annio) and Peter Kellner (Publio), and the extraordinary Vienna Philharmonic.
