‘Carnegie Hall Celebrates Its 125th Year With a Star-Studded Gala’

Exactly 125 years to the day after Carnegie Hall opened its doors, a 21st-century audience witnessed a spectacular sold-out concert featuring luminaries such as Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax, Itzhak Perlman, and Renée Fleming. Hosted by Richard Gere, the May 5 event also featured riveting performances by Lang Lang, Isabel Leonard, Michael Feinstein, and James Taylor. Pablo Heras-Casado conducted the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and the Oratorio Society of New York.
