Pablo Heras-Casado conducts reprise of «Matsukaze» in Warsaw and Luxembourg

Following the critically acclaimed premiere performances of Matsukaze at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, Pablo Heras-Casado now follows the production of Toshio Hosokawa’s Japanese-hued opera to Warsaw and Luxembourg.

The Financial Times, reviewing the premiere in Brussels, gave the performances five out of five possible stars and wrote that, «Matsukaze is meticulously made and compellingly beautiful. La Monnaie has brought together a team whose work is so harmonious that it hurts.»  The upcoming performances feature the same cast a the premiere: note new music specialist Barbara Hannigan sings the title role and Charlotte Hellekant plays her sister Murasame. The opera will be presented in Warsaw on May 31, June 1 and June 2. Matsukaze will also be performed in Luxembourg on June 9 to 10 and in Berlin at the temporary home of the Staatsoper, the Schiller Theater, from July 15 to 17.
