Beethoven concerts with the Freiburger Barockorchester

This month, Pablo Heras-Casado reunites with the Freiburger Barockorchester for two all-Beethoven programmes, including a complete cycle of the composer’s Piano Concertos, hosted at the Konzerthaus Freiburg. Both concerts will be recorded for future release on the harmonia mundi label.

On December 18, they present a sold-out performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerti Nos. 1, 2 & 3 with soloist Kristian Bezuidenhout. December 20 sees a richly varied evening of the composer’s works for orchestra, featuring the Overture from “Die Geschöpfe des Prometheus,” Op. 43 and the Overture from “Coriolan,” Op. 62. Mr. Bezuidenhout returns to complete the Concerto cycle, with the Piano Concerti Nos. 4 & 5.
