Anima Eterna · Bruckner 7

Bruckner 7

Bruckner’s symphonies are so impressive that today they’re almost regarded as monuments, often called ‘cathedrals of sound’. Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado and Anima Eterna aim to take apart these cathedrals stone by stone over the next few seasons, then rebuild them – into new cathedrals. There is no better starting point for this challenging project than Bruckner’s Seventh Symphony: the symphony which finally won over the public after years of criticism. Anima Eterna will seek out the very same instruments, strings, and orchestral forces used in that time, including, of course, the historical sound of the famous Wagner tubas!
