Pablo Heras-Casado conducts Götterdämmerung –Twilight of the Gods– at the Teatro Real in Madrid

Pablo Heras-Casado will conduct once again the Chorus and Orchestra of the Teatro Real to present Götterdämmerung. This will complete Wagner’s monumental saga that since 2019, for four successive seasons, Heras-Casado has led (Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung). The Twilight of the Gods is the darkest and most tragic work of the tetralogy created by Richard Wagner, The Ring of the Nibelung. The nine performances of Götterdämerung, from January 26 until February 17 with the production, conceived by stage director Robert Carsen, includes 11 singers, 115 musicinas and 62 members of the choir with a star studded cast that includes Andreas Schager (Siegfried), Lauri Vasar (Gunther), Martin Winkler (Alberich), Stephen Milling (Hagen), Ricarda Merbeth (Brünnhilde), Amanda Majeski (Gutrune/Norn), Michaela Schuster (Waltraute), Elizabeth Bailey (Woglinde), Maria Miró (Wellgunde), Claudia Huckle (Flosshilde/Norn) and Kai Rüütel (Norn). The Tetralogy will be recorded for international distribution and broadcast on My Opera Player.
