Series of concerts in Germany featuring the Freiburger Barockorchester

Pablo Heras-Casado returns to Germany to conduct a tour with the Freiburger Barockorchester and Marianne Crebazza. Starting off the series of concerts on November 23 at the Kammermusiksaal of the Berliner Philharmoniker (Berlin), the second concert, on November 24, in the Kölner Philharmonie (Cologne), on the 25 in the Freiburg Konzerthaus and the final concert in the tournée 26 in the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. Among the pieces of the program with a distinct musical romanticism are Schubert’s (1797- 1828) Unfinished Symphony full of harmony and unforgettable melodies and the song cycle Les Nuits d’eté by Hector Berlioz (1803-1869). The six songs are based on texts of a poem written by Teophile Gautier, and the title comes from a collection of melodies by Donizetti -Les Nuits d’été à Pausilipe-, and will be performed by the French mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa. Heras-Casado has a long-standing relationship with the Freiburger Barockorchester, he has recorded with them a series of albums for harmonia mundi, including the album with Schubert’s Symphonies No. 3 and No. 4.
