Summer concerts with the EUYO

On August 7 and 9, Pablo Heras-Casado will lead the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) and cellist Alban Gerhardt in two programs with works by Elgar and Brahms in Austria and Italy. The first performance will be held in Grafenegg, on the closing of the festival’s summer concert series, and for the second event, the Maestro returns once again to Bolzano, the Italian city where he opened the Bolzano Festival Bozen last week. Heras-Casado has conducted the EUYO, the orchestra with more than 300 hundred young musicians from the EU and the UK, on several occasions. The program of both concerts includes one of the great works for cello: the Concerto in E minor Op. 85 by Elgar, with soloist Alban Gerhardt and Brahm’s Third Symphony, a brave and powerful masterpiece composed by the German genius.
