Pablo Heras-Casado’s first book, A prueba de orquesta, transports us to the world of classical music by the hand of the most international Spanish maestro. Heras-Casado approaches classical music without restraints or prejudices, because you don’t need to have musical knowledge to understand it; music is what it conveys to us, what it makes us feel.

The author intersperses memories of his childhood and how he discovered music, with his most important concerts around the world and the orchestras he has conducted, including the Chicago and San Francisco Symphonies, the Metropolitan Opera’s Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin and the Münchner Philharmoniker.
