Pablo Heras-Casado returns to Canadian Opera Company

Pablo Heras-Casado is returning to the Canadian Opera Company to conduct a production of Gluck’s “Iphigenia in Tauris”. Between 22 September and 15 October he will be leading the COC Orchestra and Chorus in eight performances.

“Iphigenia in Tauris” is a co-production of Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera and Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and will feature Susan Graham/Katherine Whyte as Iphigenia, Russell Braun as Orestes, Joseph Kaiser as Pylades and Mark S. Doss as Thoas.Pablo Heras-Casado made his debut at the Canadian Opera Company in February 2011 with the direction of “Nixon in China” and was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Awards by The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) for the “Outstanding Musical Direction” of this production.
