Pablo Heras-Casado conducts special Mahler program with Hague Philharmonic

Pablo Heras-Casado returns to the Hague Philharmonic on May 20 and 22 to lead the orchestra in a special multidisciplinary program celebrating the 100th anniversary of Gustav Mahler’s death.A new dance work choreographed by Jiri Kylian and directed by Gerald Tibbs, and featuring the Netherlands Dans Theater II, will be created using various selections from Mahler’s works.  Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder and Lieder eines Fahrenden Gesellen, both performed by the Scottish mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill, will be combined with the Adagio from his unfinished 10th Symphony and the Britten adaptation of his “What the Wild Flowers Tell Me” to form the score for the new dance work.
