New York Philharmonic debut

Pablo Heras-Casado—Musical America’s 2014 Conductor of the Year—debuts with the New York Philharmonic this week in concerts April 2 to 5 at Avery Fisher Hall. The Spanish maestro leads Britten’s Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes, Bartók’s Third Piano Concerto with guest soloist Peter Serkin, and Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony. Purchase tickets here.

At the end of May, Pablo returns to the American stage to lead the Orchestra of St. Luke’s as its Principal Conductor in two concerts that explore the music of Pierre Boulez, George Benjamin, and their circles of influence. The two concerts, which take place May 31 and June 1, are part of the New York Philharmonic’s inaugural biennial.
