Heras-Casado conducts World Premiere of Matsukaze

For his house debut at the Theatre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussles, Belgium, Pablo Heras-Casado conducts the world premiere performances of a new opera by Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa.Titled Matsukaze, the work is based on the highly-regarded Noh play by Kan’ami of the same name. The production stars noted new music specialist Barbara Hannigan in the title role and Charlotte Hellekant as her sister Murasame. Matsukaze runs at la Monnaie from May 6 to 12 and will be reprised with the same cast in Warsaw from May 31 to June 6, in Luxembourg from June 9 to 10, and in Berlin from July 15 to 17.
