An all-symphonic program in Helsinki

Pablo Heras-Casado conducts in Helsinki, next November 17, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The all-symphonic program includes Haydn’s Symphony No. 97, Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1, and ending with Stravinsky’s Symphony in C will take place at the Helsinki Music Centre, Paavo Hall. Haydn one of the most prolific Austrian composers wrote 107 symphonies and his Symphony No. 95 served as a model for Beethoven and much later composers Prokofiev and Stravinsky. These Russian geniuses’ changed the history of 20th-century music and complete the program with Prokofiev symphony known as the “Classical”, and Stravinsky Symphony in C. The concert will be a live broadcast, at 7 pm local time (6 pm CET), on Yle Radio 1 and Yle Areena and, later, from 20:00 on Yle Teema.
