Concert with Víkingur Ólafsson at the Konzerthaus Berlin

On September 10, Pablo Heras-Casado will return to the capital of Germany to lead the Konzerthausorchester Berlin with a program that features works by Beethoven and Schumann, joined by Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson. The upcoming concert at the Konzerthaus Berlin will include Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, K. 491, and Schumann’s Symphony No. 2, in C major, Op. 61. Mozart completed his Piano Concerto No. 24, on March 24, 1786, just before creating his operas Le nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni. It is one of his most beautiful piano works of the Austrian composer, that left a deep impression on geniuses like Beethoven and following Romantic musicians. On this occasion, Heras-Casado will reunite with soloist Víkingur Ólafsson to perform this piece. This Concerto will be followed by Robert Schumann’s extraordinary Second Symphony, created between 1845 and 1846, which premiered in Leipzig with Mendelssohn conducting.
