Debut at the Wiener Staatsoper with L’incoronazione di Poppea

Next May 22, Pablo Heras-Casado will make his much-anticipated debut at the Wiener Staatsoper with the opera Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea in a new production by Jan Lauwers. The Maestro will conduct the ensemble Concentus Musicus Wien and the cast including soloists Kate Lindsey (Nerone), Slávka Zámecníková (Poppea), Xavier Sabata (Ottone), Christina Bock (Ottavia) and Willard White (Seneca), performing five performances between May 22 and June 8. This debut marks one of the most important events in the conductor’s musical life and he will return to the Vienna State Opera to conduct L’Orfeo and Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria in the following seasons. The premiere will be live broadcast at 6.30pm on play.wiener-staatsoper.at and at 7.30pm on Radio Ö1.
