Brahms and Dvořák with Francesco Piemontesi and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester

After his debut in 2015, Pablo Heras-Casado makes his greatly anticipated return to the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester for a series of concerts with the celebrated Swiss pianist, Francesco Piemontesi. This marks Mr. Heras-Casado’s debut in the ensemble’s new modern hall, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

The program for the concerts will include Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 6. The first performance will take place June 14 at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and is sold out. Heras-Casado and the ensemble will then commence the opening concert of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on June 15 in Neubrandenburg. On June 16, the ensemble will perform at the Kongresshalle Lübeck and then will return to the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg for another sold out performance on June 17. Once said by Johannes Brahms on his friend and protégé Antonín Dvořák:

“The guy has more ideas than all of us, and everyone else could turn his waste into the main topics.”

The concert on June 15 at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will be broadcasted live on NDR Kultur radio channel, and also made available on demand for subsequent 90 days.
