European Tour with the Freiburger Barockorchester and Isabelle Faust

Pablo Heras-Casado and the Freiburger Barockorchester present works by Mendelssohn on tour with violinist Isabelle Faust, this month throughout Europe. They perform at the Konzerthaus in Freiburg on March 17, followed by concerts at the Philharmonie Berlin (March 18), L’Auditori in Barcelona (March 22), for the Sociedad Filarmónica de Bilbao (March 23), and the Tonhalle Zurich (March 26). The Freiburg performance will receive a later broadcast via SWR, and there will also be a live radio broadcast of the Barcelona concert on March 22 from Catalunya Música.

The concert programmes feature Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Op. 26; Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 with Isabelle Faust as soloist; and the Symphony No. 5 in D Major, Op. 107. Mr. Heras-Casado, Ms. Faust, and the Freiburger Barockorchester previously collaborated on a harmonia mundi album release which features Schumann’s Violin Concerto, praised as “magic … refreshingly original” (Presto News). Heras-Casado is also in the process of continuing his successful Mendelssohn symphonic series with the ensemble – explore his complete discography via the following link.
