Pablo Heras-Casado conducts Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich

The Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado is stepping in at short notice to conduct the Tonhalle Orchester-Zürich, replacing Christoph von Dohnányi, who has had to cancel due to illness.

The concerts on 12 and 13 January feature a programme that consists of Franz Schubert’s Symphony No.3 and Béla Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra.

Heras-Casado returns to the orchestra for the fifth time. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung summed up his performances with them during the 2010/11 season as “imaginative and determined”.

Pablo Heras-Casado is the Principal Guest Conductor of Teatro Real, Madrid, Director of the Granada Festival, Conductor Laureate of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, artist of harmonia mundi & Deutsche Grammophon, also records for Decca Classics and Sony Classical, and is Global Ambassador of Ayuda en Acción.
